Ingredients
Ingredients are listed as a percentage of the full grist, followed by example measures for a small 5 litre brew. Hops and additives for the boil are then listed, with the percentage values this time calculated against the total grist weight. Again example values are given for a small 5 litre brew.
Grist Ingredients | ||
Pale malt | 100 % | 1693 g |
Boil Ingredients (Percentage values proportionate to total grist) | ||
Target Hops (90 mins) | 0.8 % | 13 g |
Northdown Hops (15 mins) | 0.3 % | 4 g |
Beer volume
These measures should produce approximately 5.0 litres (8.8 pints) of beer using about 4.3 litres of mash water and about 3.0 litres of sparge water.
Note
Two brews are made from this ingredient mix. The mash (4 litres) produces High-Road, and the sparge (4 litres) produces Low-Road. For Low-Road use 7g and 3g of Target Hops for bittering and aroma hops respectively.
